Current Distraction(s)
Though nearly everything I do is loosely connected under the great Art Umbrella, I am very good at distracting myself with new projects while still stuck on old projects. Oftentimes the new projects will loop back to the old ones as I learn new techniques or whatever, but plenty of times I just get some ridiculous idea, and, much like vomiting, I just have to get it out of my brain and I'm convinced I will die if I don't, causing some very stupid anxiety. In fact, it can feel so disturbingly urgent and panicked it causes troubles with sleep and hampers my ability to focus on other things as my brain works around the clock to coordinate with my body to get The Thing done. Why do we need to get The Thing done? This is a question both my wallet and the rest of my everything asks regularly. The response is usually just a high-voltage "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA".
Anyway, another unfortunate side effect is that any social contact I may normally have can easily fall to the wayside. It doesn't help that I have a very terrible sense of time. Before I know it, it has been months or years between visits with those I care about.
I hope this page will not only be a nice little window into my current goings-on, but also a way for friends and family to see I'm still alive despite my radio silence.
The only trick will be for me to make sure I at least occasionally update the page.
We'll see how that goes, but I'm not bettin' no money!
